Timothy S. Howell

Tim Howell heads the Power and Development team at GE Energy Financial Services. In this role, he oversees the firm's origination of equity investments in thermal power generation projects and its co-development efforts for both thermal and renewable power projects in the U.S. and Canada.
Prior to this assignment, Mr. Howell led origination for GE Energy Financial Services' Renewable Energy team, where he helped to originate $12 billion in investment commitments globally for projects generating power from the wind, sun and other renewable energy sources. He held this role from 2006 to 2015.
Previously, Mr. Howell was responsible for several start-up growth initiatives at GE Energy Financial Services, including renewable energy and clean tech equity.
Mr. Howell joined GE Structured Finance Group (SFG), the predecessor of GE Energy Financial Services, in 1994, and has held positions in Project Development, Product Development, and Origination, including both US and globally focused assignments. In 2000, he became a Managing Director. Prior to joining SFG, Mr. Howell spent ten years at GE Energy.
Mr. Howell holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Industrial Economics and Mechanical Engineering from Union College in Schenectady, NY, and he received an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. He is a graduate of GE's Technical Marketing Program.
